Lauren has over nine years of experience in the mental health and wellbeing sector. She is a BACP Registered Psychotherapist, working with clients from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of life experiences. She fosters empowerment and resilience in her clients, helping them build the courage to face life’s challenges independently. With a calm, warm, and empathetic approach, Lauren prioritizes trust-building and creating a grounded therapeutic environment. Her training and experience in trauma-informed care allow her to work holistically, supporting clients as they explore how their past experiences shape their daily lives and sense of self.
Since 2015, Lauren has been central to EASE’s mission, contributing to both client care and the professional development of the clinical team. In her role as Senior Project Manager, she has been instrumental in recruiting and training clinicians, developing clinical training materials, co-creating EASE’s clinical handbook, and leading research efforts. Her commitment to innovation in therapeutic practices has earned her and the EASE research team awards, including the IMEC Innovative Research Award in 2017 and the PCP 2018 award for “Ongoing Commitment to Researching Therapeutic Change.”
Lauren’s previous experience includes two years as a volunteer counselor with Childline, where she found purpose in listening to young people, witnessing their resilience, and supporting them in building a hopeful future. As part of her Doctorate studies, Lauren completed a clinical placement with a charity supporting women and girls affected by abuse, which further enriched her understanding of trauma. Her dedication extends internationally; she has combined her passion for travel with volunteering, spending time in Bali working in a government-funded mental health hospital, orphanages, and schools, where she provided culturally sensitive support to children and adults alike.
Currently completing her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, Lauren’s approach is rooted in cultural sensitivity, compassion, and a commitment to continuous learning—qualities that enhance her work with both clients and the team at EASE.
