Andrew Herd is the Managing Director of Lancashire Court Capital Ltd (‘LCCL’) and a partner in its investment affiliate, Lancourt & Co LLP. LCCL is a small privately owned investment and consulting business based in Mayfair and which specialises in banking and financial services, the leisure and gaming industry, financial restructuring transactions and property and retail financing. LCCL’s business model is to align its skills with investment partners and high quality operational management in order to generate significant capital value.
Mr Herd graduated in Law from King’s College Cambridge and then qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse. He worked as an investment banker for nearly 20 years, holding senior positions at Morgan Grenfell, Paribas Capital Markets and SG Hambros where he was a Managing Director, Executive Committee member and Head of Financial Institutions.
More recently he became involved in the leisure sector as Chairman of Metro Casinos Limited (an affiliate of MGM Mirage, the US group), then Deputy Chief Executive of Aspinalls UK Holdings Limited and currently as a principal in Global Gaming Ventures Limited, a regulated UK casino development business.
Mr Herd is a non-executive director of and a shareholder in United Trust Bank (a UK retail bank) and its parent company, UTB Partners Limited. He is an equity partner in the Global Gaming Ventures Group. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds current regulatory authorisations from the Bank of England/PRA (as a Bank Director and Audit Committee Chairman) and the UK Gambling Commission.
