Emily is a trainee UKCP therapist and is completing her training at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling. She has experience counselling adults at Headstrong Hackney and generally takes an existential-humanistic approach to working with clients, but also resists clinging too tightly to labels of that sort.
Emily is most inspired by nature and our place within it. She is generally captivated by place, space, “home”, loneliness, longing, being out of place, change… and gets fired up by talking about these things with clients. As an expat, she feels a particular empathy for other people who are away from their homeland.
Emily holds an MSc in Psychology and an MA in English literature. Prior to training as a psychotherapist, she worked as a journalist and walked up many mountains.
