Jess is a trainee Psychotherapist and Counselling Psychologist, currently studying for her doctorate at the New School of Counselling and Psychotherapy. She has previously completed an MSc in Psychology at BPP, and a certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Regents University, as well as additional training at City Lit. Jess has over ten years of experience in teaching and mentoring, and a background as an actor and musician, having originally trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She also holds a B.A. Hons. in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History from Oxford University. Her previous research has investigated stress and performance anxiety, and she has also contributed to the discussion around mental health in theatre by producing a series of after show talks on the subject with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).
Jess’s approach is primarily existential, focussing on understanding, meaning making, compassion and clarity; she offers a flexible, supportive and non-judgemental space for her clients to explore whatever brings them to therapy.
