Linda Tayler is a qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor who has been trained in a number of approaches and methods including: The Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Trans personal approaches, Existential Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Applied Systemic Theory. Linda also uses Mindfulness and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in her clinical work. Previous to her career in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Linda worked as a teacher and has experience of working with children from four years old until nineteen years old, including children with learning difficulties and behavioural problems. In her MA Psychology of Religion, Linda’s dissertation was “An historical examination of the perception in the psychotherapeutic community of the relationship between mental health and well-being and religious faith”, and in her MA Theology, her dissertation was “The meaning and implications of covenant relationships”, an exploration of the agreements that govern intimate relationships between individuals and groups of people, whether written, verbal, or understood.
Linda workstherapeutically in an integrative, holistic and systemic way and has had experience in working with those with a wide range of concerns and who come from many different cultural and religious backgrounds. In therapy, Linda will work collaboratively with you to think through and discuss your personal concerns with the aim of finding greater understanding, relief, and some resolution of your difficulties, in a way that suits both you and your needs and in accordance with your wishes.
Linda is furthering her qualifications by studying for a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy by Professional Studies at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling where she is in her final year.
Linda is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adheres to their Code of Ethics. She is also a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society, an Accredited member of the United Kingdom Association of Humanistic Psychology Practitioners, a Member of the Association for Family Therapists, a member of the Society of Existential Analysis, a Member of the EMDR Association UK, and is registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
